Red Coyote Cyclery is situated in one of mountain biking’s epicenters – Virgin, UT. Red Coyote is a collection of riders and mechanics inspired to explore and share this area through their passion for biking. We are the closest bike rental shop to some of the most incredible trails in Southern Utah like the JEM trail and Guacamole trail, among many others.
Mountain biking in southern Utah is as varied as its geography. Whether you are entirely new to the sport, or a seasoned desert rider, there are trails to enjoy, vistas to discover, and memories to be made.
We believe that a life full of your passions is a life well lived. That curiosity pulls us around the next turn on the trail. That inclusivity creates space for communities to grow around biking. These core values place Red Coyote Cyclery uniquely at the intersection of people and cycling where we empower locals and visitors to connect with the jaw-dropping landscape of Southern Utah around Zion National Park.
We offer an array of premium mountain bikes from Transition and Fuji, which are ideally suited to the regional terrain. Locals know summer heat can be brutal unless you know when to ride. That’s why we offer overnight rentals. Bikes can be picked up the night before, as a full day rental, so that you can beat the heat in the middle of the day. This allows your group to enjoy the trails that evening AND the following morning when temperatures are more comfortable.
Each rental is tuned by our professionally trained mechanics to suit your riding needs. To that end, when you reserve your bikes, it is important to have accurate height and weight information for each member of your group for your best riding experience.

You are responsible for the items that you and your group rent from Red Coyote Cyclery (RCC) for the duration of your rental. To that end, item 2 of our rental agreement states: ‘I acknowledge full and sole responsibility for the use, care, and return of this gear, whether used by myself or use shared with another.’
If RCC property is damaged out on a ride and returned to the shop, we will ask you for payment of that item at our wholesale price +labor to replace it. If the damaged property is lost or not returned we will ask for full MSRP+labor. Our labor rate is $60/hr.
We also recognize normal wear and tear that is associated with desert riding such as goat heads which may pop a tube. RCC accommodates one tube replacement per group. Similarly, we recognize that if you crash into a bush, you may scratch the paint-we consider this normal wear and tear. But if the bike tumbles down a rocky section of trail we may have to charge for the time to fix this up or replace a section of frame or damaged components.
In the rare instances where damage occurs to our property due to a rental we pledge to make every effort to be fair in these instances. At the end of the day RCC asks that above all else you choose your own well being over that of a bike. Bikes and their components are replaceable, you are not.
Bikes are fun but can become expensive in a hurry if you crash. RCC offers a damage waiver that covers a bike up to $750 + any labor costs for $5/bike so that you can focus on the fun parts of riding. If you opt-in for this waiver, it must be purchased for each bike in a group. For example, if six people rent bikes that group will pay $30 and each bike will be covered to $750 of damage. This waiver is only available before you leave for your ride and does not cover lost, stolen, or missing items.
Helmets, gloves, flat kit, and locks.
You can rent out a bike for a full day (8 hours) or half day (4 hours).
