Shop Information

Zion Rock and Mountain Guides is a family owned business and one of the original guiding companies in the Zion area. After 20 years in business, they have the knowledge and experience to make your Zion canyoneering or climbing adventure the trip of a lifetime.

Due to the park’s size, complexity, and the limited amount of time that visitors typically have to spend there, a lot of the views and activities are missed. It could take years for someone to find the perfect adventure they are looking for if they are searching on their own. Zion Rock and Mountain Guides is a great source to help visitors capture those breathtaking views and adventures that may otherwise be missed.

Zion Rock and Mountain guides are experienced and intimately familiar with Zion National Park. They have been trained in climbing, canyoneering, mountain biking, yoga, and the history of the park.  Your time in Zion may be limited, so let them help you make the most of it!

Trail Info

Full Day Climbing Adventure

If you have the time and are reasonably fit we highly recommend our Full Day Climbing Adventure. Signing up for our full day means that we can choose from longer and/or more climbing routes. Full climbing days are only offered when the weather permits us to be out for a full day. This usually means Spring and Fall only, as the summer and winter conditions are to harsh for full climbing days. In addition to getting you up some killer routes we’ll help you focus on movement and mental strategy for climbing harder routes.

Know that when you book a trip with us you are booking a private adventure. This means that there will be no one else along to adversely effect your experience and also allows for your guide to tailor the excursion to your needs.

Short Day Family Climbing Adventure

You and your family need absolutely zero experience to come out for a day with us. We’ll teach you the basics of body movement in the vertical realm and explain how the gear we use works. Climbing is a great family activity and this is a great introduction to the sport.

Full Day Canyoneering

If you have the time and are reasonably fit we highly recommend our Full Day Canyoneering Adventure. Signing up for our full day means that we can choose from longer canyons that have longer rappels and thus, more excitement. All of the elements of a great canyoneering adventure are present as we hike, rappel, climb over and under obstacles and swim through seasonal pools. Know that when you book a trip with us you are booking a private adventure.

Family Canyoneering Adventure

We do not water down our family canyoneering trips. We simply adjust the days activities to fit your particular group. A guided family canyoneering day is filled with fun and excitement as you enter a world of adventure. Not only do you get the opportunity to do multiple rappels, free climb over and under boulders and logs, you get to do all of this in some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere. Very few people visit these places.

The experience you have with your friends and family and the photos and video you take will provide you with memories to last a lifetime.

Biking Adventure – JEM Trail

Desert single track so fast and furious it’ll bring a smile to your face. Relatively easy (technically) riding provides us with some wicked downhill riding fun as we juke and jive our way through the sagebrush-lined single track and along the rim of the same Virgin River that carved the famous Zion Narrows in Zion National Park.

Biking Adventure – Jem – Hurricane – Goulds Rim

Approximately 25mi. in length, the combination of these trails makes for a great full day mountain bike ride for most people. This ride is strenuous because of its length and only moderately technical. Most people have a new found love for the desert landscape after this ride as the views are tremendous and the riding is miles and miles of sculpted singletrack.

Biking Adventure – Thunder Mountain

Thunder Mountain has quickly become one of the must-do rides for mountain bikers visiting Southwestern Utah. This is one of the most visually stunning rides you’ll ever encounter. The ride travels through the Clarion Formation, the main geologic layer that makes up Bryce Canyon National Park. This geologic layer is famous for its hoodoos and otherworldly formations, exquisitely eroded by time and the elements. Our ride has a starting elevation of 7000 ft and travels up as high as 8200 ft before racing back down to our rig completing a 14.7mi loop.

Zion Hike and Bike Adventure

There is no better way to access Zion Canyon than by bicycle. We’ll avoid the cattle busses altogether and head straight up canyon to take in some of the more famous hikes in the park. A guide can help interpret your surroundings and make a day of hiking an even richer experience by helping you understand the forces at work here.

If you are unsure about the terrain or are looking to push yourself with regards to your hiking potential or your fear of heights, a guide can be of great value in these areas as well. Having a guide for the day also means that they can impart local knowledge about the best places to eat, what times of year to visit in the future, and suggest other unique activities to be had while staying here.

Full Day Zion Hiking

Hiking in Zion on ones own can be great, but there can be many advantages in hiring a guide for the day. A guide can help interpret your surroundings and make a day of hiking an even richer experience by helping you understand the forces at work here.

Hiking Slots and Arches

This awesome hike is a real hidden gem. Solitude is in abundance in the backcountry and that is exactly where we are headed. We’ll gain nearly 1500ft of elevation in about 2.5 miles. As we ascend we will pass a very large arch formed by the elements and perfect geologic placement. A little farther and we slide blissfully into a slot canyon environment not to unlike the famous subway in Zion National Park. As we rise above the slotty portion we’ll gain our perch on top of a lofty plateau, affording us stellar 360 degree views.
