We are hands down the premier operator in the most convenient kayaking destinations; teeming with wildlife just 25 minutes from downtown Naples, and Marco Island.  Book online today to experience mangroves, alligators, mantees and more on your Naples kayaking tour!

East River Fakahatchee Kayak Tour

Our top rated tour, The East River Fakahatchee State Park kayak tour is the quintessential backcountry experience in South Florida. With zero development, minus the dirt road used to access the water, one will immediately understand the vastness of Florida’s largest state park. Guests will kayak through this never-ending maze of mangrove tunnels and backwater lakes and can expect to see the American alligator, numerous log legged wading birds, Osprey and of course all four* species of Mangroves. This tour paddles through primarily brackish water providing our guests with an amazing example of a well preserved estuary. The numerous ponds and lakes connected to the Fakahatchee Bay in the Gulf of Mexico act as a nursery for snook, tarpon, sharks and many more species. With strong paddlers this route can reach the Fakahatchee Bay, although most tours will stay tucked in the protected ponds and tunnels.

Guests will meet their guide at the East River canoe launch located 19 miles east of the intersection of Collier Blv and highway 41 in east Naples. This launch site is about 25 minutes from downtown Naples and Marco Island. For google maps enter “East River Park and Launch” ***Included in the price of this tour is our mandatory State Park entrance fee of $2 per person along with a 13% donation. These fees go directly to the Fakahatchee Park, not the State Park system umbrella, allowing us to not only experience an amazingly managed and well preserved park, but also allowing us to donate directly to our local park!***

Rookery Bay Kayak Tour

Adventure Paddle Tours’ original Naples excursion unveils an amazing world of aquatic wildlife. This 2.5-hour tour departs from a small watercraft boat launch located at the end of the “Road to Nowhere” within the Rookery Bay Research reserve.

After finding your paddling groove, we’ll venture out into the larger bay heading towards one of the most spectacular bald eagle nests we’ve ever seen (and we have seen a ton). During our open-water kayaking session, guests are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled for that somewhat elusive manatee.

Following a stunning and scenic paddle through Rookery Bay’s open waters, this tour takes a turn into the popular Shell Island Canoe Trail where your guides can grab horseshoe crabs and fighting conchs and spot schooling mullet. Depending on the group speed, this classic Naples tour can paddle up to seven miles or as little as three.

Rookery Bay Sunset Kayak Tour

Immerse yourself in a postcard-pristine Gulf Coast sunset on this Rookery Bay evening kayak tour. Paddling through the many shades of blue, gold and pink as the sun meets the horizon is a breathtaking experience.

Not only do you enjoy all of the wildlife sightings involved on our daytime kayak tours, you are rewarded at the end with a spectacular Florida sunset and photo opportunities created by the colorful water-to-sky light show—one of our favorite scenes to photograph.

This unforgettable private tour sets you up for a great sunset vantage point and typically paddles around four miles. All tours are private and include a 15-minute paddle lesson along with all necessary kayaking gear and tandem (two-person) kayaks.

Mangrove Tunnels & Manatees Tour

Our top-rated Mangrove Tunnels and Manatees Tour delivers you to up-close bucket-list animal viewing. This adventure-loaded 2.5-hour tour provides unbeatable opportunities to spot manatees, alligators, river otters and more.

Enjoy a 30-minute paddle through a manatee protection speed zone surrounding the manatee-packed Faka Union Canal. Once you’ve found your kayaking rhythm, the tour paddles out into the numerous mangrove tunnels connected to the canal. Expect to see multiple protected animal species, including the American alligator, Roseate Spoonbill and the always-curious river otter.

Q I have never kayaked before, is this ok?

Of course. Our tours are not only great for experienced paddlers looking to learn about and explore the area, they are perfect for beginners who have never paddled. Our tandem kayaks allow for two kayakers to pull the weight. If one person gets tired, take a break and the other can paddle for a bit. We also provide full training and safety talks before any tour.

Q What is the age limit?

All of our Naples kayak tours are private so limitations are based on weight. Life jackets require a minimum of 30 pounds.
Please note if your group decides to take a younger child, we will head back early if the child isn’t comfortable or loses interest. We find that with children younger than 6 years old, it can be difficult to hold their attention for the entire tour.

Q What if we have an odd number of people?

There are two options. Preferably, we put the odd person in a single kayak. The other option is for one person to jump in a tandem kayak with the guide.

Q Why do you rent tandem kayaks?

We use tandem (two-person) kayaks for three reasons:
They are twice as stable as most single kayaks.
Groups can easily stay together while exploring the mangrove tunnels.
Younger children can safely ride in front of parents.

Q Is there a weight limit?

Yes. For our two-person tandem kayaks the max load range is 500 pounds (combined weight of two paddlers). Please try and even the weight out among kayaks when selecting paddling partners.

Q What is the cancellation policy?

All tours may be cancelled up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled time for a full refund. If numbers change or you must cancel within 48 hours you may received a voucher redeemable for one year.

Q Do we cancel for inclement weather?

Yes. However, that will be the guide’s call. We try to be very proactive on rescheduling if the forecast is looking less than optimal. We will not force anyone to go out if the weather isn’t looking good, but please trust our judgment.

Q Will we see alligators?

There are certain tour locations and areas within those tours that have a higher potential to see gators. If you do (or do not) want to see one, please let us know ahead of time and we can plan accordingly.
The Rookery Bay Reserve averages one sighting every month. There is a much higher chance of seeing an alligator at our Port of the Islands location.

Q Are alligators dangerous?

Encounters with gators from a kayak are a very unique, exciting and safe experience. Gators tend to keep their distance and are probably more afraid of us than we are of them.

Q Will we tip over?

Capsizes are very rare and are typically a combination of variables such as two larger adults goofing around. The kayaks used on our Florida tours are our fleet’s most stable and have yet to capsize.

Q Can I use my own kayak?

No, we provide all of our guests with tandem touring sea kayaks. Everyone will be in a tandem kayak unless there is an odd number. If there is an odd number we will put one person by themselves or with a guide.

Q What should I wear?

Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are all recommended. Along with loose fitting, hiking type clothing. Your guide will most likely be wearing board shorts and a sun shirt. Long sleeves and hiking pants could be necessary due to mosquitos or sun exposure.

Q Can I bring my camera?

Yes! There are dry areas to store your camera. We recommend smaller compact digital cameras over larger DSLR cameras.

Q Are kayak seats comfortable? Is there good back support?

Yes. We use Necky Manitou II kayaks. Each kayak is outfitted with what is called an “Active Comfort System” seat. Each seat is very adjustable and has more than enough back support for most. These are by far the most comfortable kayak seat I have ever used.
